PRIVATE INSTALLATION – CALMING CENTERPIECE OF A LUXURY FAMILY FLAT, PRAGUE – RADLICE

The journey of art is often as captivating as the artwork itself, and the story behind the creation of this painting is a testament to this. Commissioned to be the core of a modern living room, this piece was not just meant to be an art installment but also a harmonizing element in the room’s ambiance.

The client’s vision was crystal clear from the outset. They desired an artwork that would not only blend seamlessly with the design and color elements of the surrounding furniture, library, and other artworks but also serve a deeper purpose. Positioned on a solitary pillar, the centerpiece of the living room, ‘Fluttering’ was to be an oasis of calm, offering a visual reprieve to its viewers after the day’s turmoil.

‘Fluttering’ is an abstract creation, spanning across two 40×40 cm canvases. Its visual language is complex yet soothing, employing harmonious geometric shapes and vertical stripes that echo the keys of a piano. This pattern, in an irregular sequence of pastel and vivid hues, creates a dynamic yet melodic rhythm. The choice of colors and their arrangement was deliberate, ensuring that every hue played a role in crafting an aura of tranquility and rest; it serves as a curtain that separates the hustle of the real world from the serenity of home.

As ‘Fluttering’ finds its place in the client’s living room, it carries with it a promise – the promise of harmony, peace, and a momentary escape into a world where the only language spoken is that of beauty and tranquility.
